Stuff I'm Into Saturday

Hey guys! I hope that you all had a great week! It was my intention to take pictures of delicious food to show you today but sadly that didn't happen. I wasn't feeling great this week (oh migraines, you are the worst) and I just wasn't really into prepping anything interesting or eating anything interesting for that matter. I wasn't going to post because I didn't feel like I had anything to talk about but I thought it would be fun to bring back the old Fun Friday style post that I used to do. I did one a week or two ago and it was fun so I decided rather than skip this post, lets just have some fun!

I decided that I would talk about some things that I am into at the moment as well as things that I want to do. Check it out!

Something that has definitely not been on my radar in quite a few years is travel. Well that's not entirely true I guess. I've had places that I want to visit but there were never any real plans to go. As my bubble got smaller due to my OCD, things like travel completely left my radar. There was no way I would feel safe. I'm so excited to say that now that I have started treatment and have been able to see past the OCD my desire to travel has come back full force! A few of the places at the top of my list are Sedona, Iceland, Denmark, Montreal, Israel, Greece and Amsterdam. I'm really hoping to plan a trip for sometime in the next year but obviously finances will determine whether or not that is possible. I'm just really excited that the idea of travel is back on the table.

*Note: I know I have gone to Florida but I consider that more of a visit than an actual travel experience. I'm talking about going to new places :)

When I was younger photography was a passion of mine. It was something I truly enjoyed. I've worked in the field for 9 years now and I've pretty much completely stopped shooting on my own for fun. This is something that I want to remedy. For a long time I hated it. I couldn't imagine doing something in my free time that I did all week at work. Now I have what feels like a second wind. I want to create. I want to see what I am capable of. I have a list of places I want to visit this spring/summer and I want to see what I can capture there. I will make sure to share them with you.

You guys. I know you have to be with me on this. Don't you miss summer fruit?! I seriously can't wait for the weather to get warmer so I can enjoy more raw foods and so summer produce is back in season. All I've wanted lately is fresh summer produce. I'm also thinking about starting to juice again once it gets warmer. I remember how good I felt physically and I miss that.

Is anyone else excited about the live action Beauty and the Beast movie?! I have a friend that saw it yesterday and she said it was really great. I haven't been to a movie theatre in 6 years (also OCD related) but I'm thinking about dealing with that fear and going to see this in the theatre. I'll let you know if I see it and if I do how I like it!

I know it's not a lot but that's what has been going on here. I'm thinking about taking a trip to Whole Foods tomorrow instead of to Trader Joe's. It's obviously a bit more splurgy to go there but there have been some things that I have wanted to check out and it looks like they have some decent sales going on. If I go I'll make sure to photograph my haul to show you on Tuesday.

That's all I have for today. I hope that you are all doing well and thank you so much for reading this :) I know it's an interruption in our regularly scheduled programming but sometimes it is fun to give an update on things that aren't food related.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I'll see you on Tuesday!

I am sad to read you gave up photography for fun on your own. I would love to have a fraction of your photography skills. Have you ever thought of teaching photography? There is a guy on the island here I am hoping to take lessons from next time he offers them. Might be a way for you to feel some gratification and make some travel money.

That's wonderful that you're considering travel again! Just being open to it is major progress!
Summer produce can't get here quick enough.
The new Beauty and The Beast looks so amazing, I've heard it's wonderful. To be honest I'm not the hugest fan of movie theaters either.
I'm glad you're getting your passion back for photography, I agree with Vegan In The VI. you are so talented. But I totally understand being burned out because it's what you do for work.
I loved this post! Can't wait to see your Whole Foods splurges!!

Aww yeah, it was definitely sad for me too. I just got burned out and I couldn't think about it outside of work. I'm glad that the desire is back though. It should be fun!

I haven't thought about teaching photography. Truthfully I wouldn't know what to teach. There is some technical stuff you can teach for lighting and whatnot but other than that I truly believe that photography is just really personal. I can teach someone how to use a camera but it is hard for me to imagine how to teach the art of photography.

I've considered trying to get into travel photography and try to sell some photos to fun future travel (or at least get a seed started). I'll have to look into it!

Thank you! I've been really excited that I feel open to a lot more right now. I feel like the desire to get out and make up for the past decade of my life has been flooding back over the past 2 weeks and it's been exciting!

I'm leaning more and more toward going to see the movie. I really want to see it and it will also be progress for me in my treatment.

Thank you <3 I was definitely burned out but I think that getting out and doing photography that I want to do will help me get past that.

Oooooh girl I splurged. I splurged big time haha!

Yes to all of the travel! Iceland and Greece have been on my list for years, and since my parents went to Israel two years ago - it has been added! I know what you mean about "visits" rather than "travel". I'm hoping to get one of each in this year - but also like you, it's all about finances!

You are such a talented photographer; I always love seeing your photos!!

Hooray for summer fruit on the horizon! I'm also pretty stoked that spring starts tomorrow, so bring on the berries and cherries.

My high school is putting on the musical of Beauty and the Beast, so I'm a little overwhelmed with it right now! Ha ha!

I know, I have a major travel bug right now! I just want to see everything. I feel like the world is open to me again! Where were you thinking of going next?

Aww thank you <3

I can't wait for summer produce. I am so over the winter and heavy comfort food. Bring on the light raw food!

Haha I can imagine! I've heard the movie is great though!

Just saw the movie yesterday and loved it. It's my favorite fairy tale and have seen many versions of it. Go see it!

That is what I want, someone to teach me how to use my camera. I dont know what all the functions are and if there was a manual with it, I still am too lazy to read it.

Ahh yeah you can definitely find someone to teach you. Photography teachers are a dime a dozen here I think. Definitely people that are way more qualified than me out there :)
