This Week

Hey everyone. Thank you all so much for your supportive comments on my last post. It really does mean a lot to me. I know I missed Tuesday's post but I just didn't have anything to share. I'm happy to say that I did feel better after my therapy session. I'm not feeling 100% but I'm slowly climbing out of this rut. I'm feeling a bit more agitated than sad nowadays which I guess isn't really great but it's a change I guess. I do feel better though.

I don't have a whole lot to share right now unfortunately. I will show you the little bit that I do have. It's partially because it is Passover and I'm eating really boring food and partially because I don't really have any groceries to make anything interesting. I'm going to go shopping this weekend so I'll have a haul and next week I'll be cooking some more interesting things.

Anyway, here's what I have for this week:

This was pre-Passover avocado toast. I think I've mentioned in the past that I'm not religious at all but I do observe holidays out of respect and to be somewhat traditional.

I've been eating lots of salads this week. This one was spring mix, cranberries, almonds and a vinaigrette. It was simple and delicious.

I told you a few weeks ago that I splurged on a gift to myself and I'd let you know what it was. I just received it about a week ago and I'm in love with it. I ordered a Labradorite silver ring from Anemone Unique on Etsy. I've been looking for a gemstone ring for years and I guess I'm very particular and I am also the kind of person that needs to be sure about something before I buy it. I'm really glad I waited because I really love this ring. It honestly wasn't even that expensive at all but buying jewelry feels like a splurge. Maybe that's weird, I don't know.

I heard about this shop in a High Carb Hannah video and decided to check her out. She is vegan and located in Israel. Her jewelry is absolutely stunning. I have my eye on several more pieces and maybe I'll build up a collection over time. I barely have any jewelry at all, especially now that I found out that I'm allergic to gold. I will definitely be purchasing from her again! Keep in mind that the pieces may differ from the picture because each gemstone is unique but equally beautiful. And nope, I'm not sponsored or anything, I just really think she is talented and love supporting vegans and their small businesses.

The weather was so gorgeous yesterday so I took a walk as a break during work. When the weather is nice out I like to do this to get out and move around a bit since I'm in front of a computer all day. We also keep the studio pretty dark because it is easier to edit the photos that way. It's nice to get out into the sunshine when I can. On my walk I came across this garden of adorable succulents! There were so many of them and I decided to stop and snap a picture. It was definitely a good find, I'm glad that I noticed them!

Have you guys ever heard of Activated Charcoal Toothpaste? I've been hearing about it a lot lately and have been looking for some better toothpaste. I really want something that will whiten my teeth without the chemicals because I have sensitive teeth and the chemicals make it so much worse. I decided to give it a try and I picked up My Magic Mud Charcoal Toothpaste in the Wintergreen flavor. It's definitely pricey but so far I like it! It's really weird to look in the mirror and your mouth is black and it doesn't foam but otherwise I really like it! No sensitivity and my teeth feel really clean after I use it. The only thing I'd warn you about is that it does make a mess and it tends to get black stuff everywhere but a quick wipe up will take care of it no problem. I've only used it twice so I can't speak to the whitening aspect of it but I'll let you know.

I also really like the box. They make it very clear that they are vegan and cruelty free so I really liked that.

I don't eat Lenny & Larry cookies ever but they had these three flavors that I can never find and have wanted to try so I decided to pick them up for after Passover. I'll let you know what I think about them when I try them.

So that's everything for today! I hope that you are all doing well and enjoying your weekend. I hope that it is warming up by you too. It's going to be 83 tomorrow. It's crazy how much the temperatures are fluctuating. See you Tuesday.

I saw the same HCH video talking about that shop. I love the idea of small vegan business owners too. And supporting them of course! Your ring is gorgeous!
A channel I love on YouTube, Banana Wisdom had gotten that toothpaste in Portland. I think Natural grocers has it, and so when I use up the toothpaste I have now I think I might splurge and try it. I've been hearing great things about Activated charcoal. It would be weird to see your mouth all black though! I love it when products make it crystal clear that they are vegan and cruelty free!
This spring has been super weird. Seventies one day, forty another and even a few nights have gone down to the thirties. It's very strange
and a little scary to be honest.Birthday cake cookie! I tried the chocolate chip, and it tasted way too much like protein powder, I'm interested in how those flavors taste!

Allergic to gold?! That is a pity! Guess there is always platinum. I used to love buying jewelry on eBay, never bought any on Etsy, but I do prefer one-of-a-kind stuff.

I was just reading about the benefits of Charcoal today, I will look for that toothpaste.

Glad you are pulling out of your rut.

How gorgeous is that ring?! I'm so glad you bought it! It sounds like you are doing everything you can - just keep taking care of yourself!

I've heard of charcoal toothpaste, and I'm curious to know if it does brighten in the long term.

I'm really glad I was able to purchase something from the shop. She has really beautiful pieces. I have another one on my wish list :)

I think I like the toothpaste! I still don't know if I feel the whitening is really noticeable just yet but I do like how clean my mouth feels and I appreciate that there are no chemicals.

Definitely very weird weather but I'm definitely not complaining about the warm days :) I'll let you know about the cookies!

I always say I'm a cheap date because I'm happy with silver. I don't really see a difference in any of it anyway and I'm not a big jewelry person so it's all good.My ring is silver and I love it :)

The toothpaste is pretty good! I'll have to see what the long term effects are.

Thank you!

Aww thank you <3 I'm certainly trying.

I will let you know how I like it as I use it for a longer period of time.
